Author Visit - Kelly Milner-Halls!

We are very excited to be hosting nonfiction writer, Kelly Milner-Halls at Hedden!  She will be at our school all day on Tuesday, December 14th.  She writes a wide variety of nonfiction topics from mummies, albino animals, dinosaurs, and Sasquatch, to a recent book that has received much acclaim, Saving the Baghdad Zoo.

Ms. Milner-Halls will be doing assemblies and writing workshops with our different grade levels.  Students will find her very engaging, and the idea of writing nonfiction about unusual topics a fresh fun idea!

In the library we've been looking at many of her books during our literacy lessons in anticipation of her arrival!

Below you'll find her website:

Sincerely,
Mr. Wolfe

It was really fun making the dinosaur story today. Here is my story; If I had a dinosaur I would get a pterodactyl. Her name is Terry. She is going to sleep under my bed. I would give her a bath in a swimming pool. I would feed her 2000 steaks. She is over 9 feet tall.

Students are still talking about their excellent experience with author, Kelly Milner Halls!

We have a waiting list in the library for her books; I only wish we had more copies so that everyone could have them at once!

Thank you, for the lasting work and impression you left on our students at Hedden, Kelly!
