Janet Wong has appeared on the "Oprah Show" as well as been an invited children's author to the White House. She has written books of poetry, picture books, as well as chapter books, something for everyone!
Ms. Wong will be spending the day with Hedden students with an all-school assembly, as well as different writing workshops for grades 2 through 5.

What a great day we had with Janet Wong today! I was able to attend some of the writing workshops with different grade levels and was so impressed with the writing of our students, and the great word choice and comparisons they were creating.

Have you ever held a reptile like a lizard?
I had a bearded dragon in my classroom for many years and it was a lot of fun. They do move quickly sometimes though and can make you jump as well!
